This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Research & Development Division (Litbang) of the Indonesian Crime Prevention Institute (LCKI) defines its role as the intellectual engine of the institution, tasked with gathering data, preparing studies, and developing strategic innovations in crime prevention.

🎯 I. PURPOSE

To provide scientific and innovative foundations for LCKI’s work programs through research activities, social studies, and the development of relevant and sustainable crime prevention methods.

💼 II. MAIN DUTIES

  1. Design and implement research activities related to crime and its prevention.
  2. Develop data-based models, methods, and approaches for LCKI programs.
  3. Prepare academic papers, policy briefs, and policy recommendations.
  4. Evaluate the social impact of LCKI’s work programs.
  5. Establish research collaborations with universities, government institutions, and international partners.
  6. Prepare scientific publications and research reports.

📋 III. WORK PROCEDURES

  1. Research Planning
  • Identify priority crime issues (narcotics, violence, cybercrime, etc.).
  • Prepare research designs and terms of reference (TOR).
  • Draft schedules and budgets for research activities.
  1. Research Implementation
  • Collect primary and secondary data through surveys, interviews, and observations.
  • Analyze data using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Conduct internal and external discussions to validate results.

 

  1. Innovation Development
  • Develop social intervention models based on research findings.
  • Create educational and training tools based on scientific results.
  • Publish findings in books, journals, or digital media.
  1. Evaluation and Reporting
  • Prepare research reports and policy recommendations.
  • Submit reports to the Chairman and Expert Council.
  • Conduct program impact evaluations based on social indicators.

  • Ensure the validity and integrity of research data.
  • Uphold research ethics and respondent confidentiality.
  • Present study results objectively and constructively.
  • Support the institution’s strategic decision-making processes.
