Comprehensive crime prevention to create dynamic security in a democratic society.
The aims and objectives of establishing the institution and inaugurating the Management Board of the LCKI DKI Jakarta Province are:
- As a forum for formulating various ideas, thoughts, and references to the government, police institutions and law enforcement apparatus in DKI Jakarta regarding crime prevention efforts to support the duties of the Justice Criminal System (JCS).
- As a facilitator in crime prevention efforts and collaborating in an integrated manner with various parties, including government officials, religious figures, political figures, intellectuals, the business world, and the wider community in an effort to create a safe, peaceful and comfortable city of Jakarta.
- In order to realize dynamic active participation from the community and business world in DKI Jakarta in comprehensive and simultaneous crime prevention efforts.
- The realization of a solid and communicative law enforcement and security apparatus in DKI Jakarta Province and viewing the community and business world in the capital as partners in crime prevention and not as objects.
- As a form of active contribution from all parties in working together to realize the city of Jakarta as the capital of the Republic of Indonesia which is dignified, orderly, peaceful, safe and secure.
The problems and challenges facing the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) are currently increasing, driven by the limitations and carrying capacity of the urban environment, technological developments, and the dynamics of social life. Consequently, within the Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s jurisdiction, various categories and levels of crime require serious attention from all parties.
There are four categories of crime occurring in the capital: conventional crime, transnational crime, crimes against state assets, and racial crimes. Addressing these various forms of crime is no simple matter. The complexity and interconnectedness of these crimes, both in terms of the types of crimes and the perpetrators, which are often multidimensional and multi-sectoral, truly require the cooperation and involvement of all parties to address and resolve these issues.
On the one hand, the people, residents of the capital, businesspeople, state guests, and foreign and domestic tourists visiting the capital certainly desire a sense of security, comfort, and peace in carrying out their activities. As residents of the capital and businesspeople, we also aspire for Jakarta and Indonesia in general to become a country known for its safety, comfort, and peace. Based on this, with the cooperation and support of various parties, the Indonesian Crime Prevention Institute (LCKI) of the Jakarta Province was established. The ratification was carried out through the inauguration and inauguration of the LCKI Jakarta Province Board of Directors on August 1, 2010, in Jakarta.
The purpose of establishing this institution is to convey various ideas and thoughts to support the duties of the Criminal Justice System, build partnerships between the police and the community in crime prevention in the capital city of Jakarta, and collaborate with all parties to foster communication and active participation of the community and all elements of the nation in crime prevention efforts. The LCKI will act as a facilitator in crime prevention efforts, which of course requires comprehensive cooperation and integration among various parties and elements of society to create dynamic security in Jakarta.
To implement its vision, mission, and objectives, the LCKI of DKI Jakarta Province has formulated areas of work and collaborates cross-sectorally with government agencies and state organizations/institutions in the following areas:

The Jakarta LCKI will soon develop work programs in collaboration across sectors and with the wider community to organize outreach programs, national/international seminars, workshops, and concrete activities/actions related to crime prevention efforts, particularly in Jakarta.
It is hoped that the inauguration of the Jakarta LCKI Provincial Board will further enhance the active role of all components and community leaders in the capital city in prevention efforts, which in turn will contribute to the realization of a truly safe, comfortable, peaceful, and peaceful capital city, as desired by all parties.
